Terms of Service
Effective date: 17 May 2026
These terms explain how you may use SportsBracket. By using the website, estimator or rules summaries, you agree to these terms.
Using SportsBracket
- SportsBracket provides tournament planning tools, including the bracket estimator and rules summaries. The current focus is calculation and planning, not full event operation.
- You may use the website for lawful tournament planning, education, comparison of bracket systems and internal event preparation.
- You are responsible for verifying final competition rules, event bulletins and local federation requirements before running an event.
Estimator and rules summaries
- The estimator is designed to be accurate, but it is still a planning tool. Real-world events can change because of withdrawals, walkovers, no-shows, local organizer decisions and official rule changes.
- Rules summaries are short planning aids, not complete rulebooks. Official federation, national body and event documents remain the authoritative sources.
- If you find a mismatch in a sport, ruleset or bracket format, contact us so we can verify and correct the model.
Accounts, paid plans and future features
- SportsBracket may later offer accounts, saved events, generated brackets, PDF exports, live display, scoreboards, branding, API access and paid plans.
- When paid plans are introduced, plan limits, billing terms, cancellation terms and refund rules will be shown before purchase.
- Future beta, preview or experimental features may change, break or be removed as the product develops.
Acceptable use
- Do not use SportsBracket to break the law, infringe rights, attack the service, scrape aggressively, bypass limits, distribute malware or interfere with other users.
- Do not upload or submit content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, privacy-invasive or owned by someone else without permission.
- We may restrict access, remove content or suspend future accounts if the service is misused.
Content and ownership
- SportsBracket owns the website, product design, software, estimator logic, brand elements and documentation we create.
- You keep ownership of event data, bracket data, organization names, logos and other content you provide, subject to any rights needed for us to operate the service.
- Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer SportsBracket in a way that violates law or these terms.
Ads, referrals and third-party services
- SportsBracket may show advertising, sponsored placements and referral links to anonymous or free users.
- Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. This includes advertising, analytics, hosting, payment, email and external official rule sources.
- We are not responsible for third-party websites or offers once you leave SportsBracket.
Availability and changes
- We may change, improve, pause or discontinue parts of the website or product as SportsBracket develops.
- We aim to keep the service useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We may update these terms. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice.
Limitation of liability
- SportsBracket is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent permitted by law.
- We are not liable for tournament scheduling decisions, official rule interpretations, event delays, lost revenue, indirect losses or decisions made only from estimator output.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
