13th Asahi Cup - Belgian championship For beginners and advanced juniors, seniors and masters. Saturday 4 April 2026 Sportshall “de Hoogt”, de Hoogt 20, 2360 Oud-Turnhout (Belgium) Registration from 6 years up to and including adults The aim of the competition is to offer novice karateka’s the opportunity to become acquainted with full contact karate. For both novice and advanced karateka, safety and sportsmanship of the participant are paramount, where participation is more important than winning! The experience groups are: Beginner: competition experience: 0 to 2 competitions (B) Advanced: competition experience: 3 and more competitions Competition Rules: It is fought according to the rules of (Shin)Kyokushin-kumite. Due to the closed helmets, all kicks are allowed, but for youth up to 18 years, kicks to the head must be checked and should never result in a KO. Protection: Juniors: Closed helmet, gloves, shinprotection, groinprotection, teeth and kneeprotection are optional. For girls breastprotection, only cup-type. U20 and Seniors: Shinprotection, groinprotection, teeth and kneeprotection are optional. For women breastprotection, only cup-type. Masters: Gloves, shinprotection, groinprotection, teeth and kneeprotection are optional. For women breastprotection, only cup-type. Division of groups: The groups are divided as much as possible on the basis of age, height, weight [no difference greater than 5 kg, except in the heaviest weight class 10 kg], grade and experience. Juniors: 6-7 years, 8-9 years, 10-11 years, 12-13 years, 14- 15 years and 16-17 years. U20: Women -60kg, +60kg, men -70kg, -80kg and +80kg. Seniors from 21 years: women -60kg, -65kg and + 65kg, men -70kg, -80kg, -90kg and +90 kg. Masters from 40 years: women open weight, men -80 and +80kg. The novice karateka’s are divided as much as possible in groups with 3 persons, the advanced karateka’s in groups with 4 persons or a pyramid system. If a poule cannot be formed, the organization will aim to arrange a suitable match for matchmaking. If the number of participants in a category is too limited, the organization may decide to merge certain categories in order to ensure a balanced competition. Competition duration: 1 minute: 6 - 9 years 1.5 minutes: 10 - 15 years 2 minutes: from 16 years and up One additional extension of 2 minutes enchosen is possible if hikewake. Registrations: Registrations will be accepted until March 20th through kumitetechnology . Club manager please be correct with the registration data, such as age, height, weight and competition experience. A weight difference of more than 3 kg from the registered weight will result in disqualification from the competition. Because of this organization, we can admit 350 participants and therefore make good group divisions for the karatekas. Registration is valid upon receipt of the registration form and payment to account number BE26 0014 3570 9629. Registration is binding and cancellations will not be refunded. Running match: 08:00 - 18:00: Opening cafeteria and sports hall 2 08.00 - 9.15: Registration for sports hall 1 [dojos still receive a time slot] 8:00 - 17.00: Warm-up room for karateka's sports hall 1 09.30 - 9.50: Briefing referees and coaches [dojo ASAHI] 9.50: Karateka’s line up per dojo 10.00 - 10.15: Official opening match 10.15 - 18.15 Start competition [participants/coaches know their poule and tatami of the competition] The number of referees will also determine whether the match can take place without a formal break. Once a group has been completed, prizes will be awarded immediately . Entrance: Kumite participation: €15 Spectators: €10 [from 6 years] Coaches: The match will take place on 4 tatami’s. Maximum 4 coaches can attend for free. Please note: 1 participant 1 coach, 2 participants 2 coaches, 3 participants 3 coaches and 4 participants and more 4 coaches. Coaches register with officials on kumitetechnology. Referees are greatly appreciated for their presence to help make this match possible. Referees register on kumitetechnology with officials.
